Dear Conversation Cafe Women,

Patricia and I have heard your need to have conversation cafe sooner rather than later in November. So the next date of CCW will be November 16th from 7-9pm. The topic is “Living Fully in your Yes and No.” There will also be a CCW on November 30th. We look forward to re-connecting with all of you.

Even though I’ve only attended one Conversation Cafe evenings, I have been yearning for the next one. I am so grateful that we are going to have another one soon.

Like Lisa, I’ve only attended one CCW and look forward to Nov. 16 when I get to come back and think and feel the issues of “Fully living with my Yes and NO”. Thank you for getting us together Pat and Jodi.

Here’s something that I think speaks to our “yeses and no’s”:

The Rev. Dr. Janet Edwards, a minister at the Community of Reconciliation in Oakland, conducted a wedding between two women in June of 2005. The Pittsburgh Presbytery is putting her on trial for this action. This will be an historical event.

Rev. Edwards has asked the world to come to her trial and offer support for both female clergy and their rights of conscience and for all courageous clergy who uphold religious principles that challenge the status quo. UU‘s (Unitarian Universalists) are getting involved.

The trial is 9am, Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at the Priory on the north side.

After the trial, there will be a worship celebration and, at noon, a luncheon at the Pittsburgh Golf Club. The trial and post-celebration/ lunch are open to everybody.
